Ideally situated on Port Jefferson's harbor, CMM is an integral part of the Village's revitalization efforts: to link the community with historic existing structures and its waterfront.
The Chandlery was built 107 years ago, originally by the Bayles family, as a provisioning store during Port Jefferson's ship building era. One of the last remaining buildings of this important era on the waterfront, the Chandlery was acquired by Port Jefferson Village in 1997. Today, the building's exterior is being restored with money from a New York State grant to preserve historic structures.

At just over 1200 square feet, the first floor of the Chandlery will provide CMM with its main exhibit space. Interactive exhibits including a ship, chandlery, boat yard, cove, and navigation station are in the planning stages.

The Skipjack Room - CMM is using the Skipjack room in the Port Jefferson Village Center for Summer Fun activities, and Winter Drop-In Weekends.
